The 2024 Miss Hibiscus crown has been intricately designed by the Royal jeweler for Her Majesty Queen Nanasipau’u of the Kingdom of Tonga. Maria Yang, a skilled jewelry designer and contemporary artist, has crafted the luxurious vintage crown using Swarovski crystals and pearls. The finished piece features a blend of silver, gold, and alloy plating.
Yang holds certification as an emerald appraiser from the Hong Kong Jewelry Institute and is recognized for her research on colored gemstones. Additionally, she is a member of the China Collectors Association and the founder of two jewelry brands, ‘Star Wisdom’ and ‘Cheese de Mars.’
Since 2019, Yang has made her home on the picturesque Pacific Island of Tonga, where she serves as the Royal jeweler for Queen Nanasipau’u.
