This Friday, the Miss Cakaudrove Youth titleholder will don a crown adorned with 59 pearls during a ceremonial event at Narain Park in Savusavu. The carnival co-ordinator, Aubrey Whippy, has noted that 14 young women from 12 diverse districts are competing for the prestigious Miss Cakaudrove Youth and Miss Charity titles.

The festivities will kick off today at 10 am with a vibrant parade starting from the Savusavu Court House heading to Narain Park. The closing ceremony of the pageant is scheduled for Friday, commencing at 3 pm, culminating in the crowning events for Miss Charity and Miss Cakaudrove Youth at 7 pm, with Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka serving as the chief guest.

Mr. Whippy expressed gratitude towards J Hunter Pearls for crafting the exquisite pearly crown and Shane Bower for his generous contribution of the crown for the Miss Charity title. He emphasized that the event will feature a jam-packed day and night program over a span of four days. The funds raised during this initiative will benefit youth development programs in the Cakaudrove region.

Entry to the park is free, marking this event as the inaugural program organized by the Cakaudrove Youth Provincial Council, showcasing the commitment to youth engagement and community development.
