Manshika Prasad, who was recently crowned Miss Universe Fiji 2024, found herself amidst confusion shortly after her victory when claims surfaced questioning her title. Just two days after the lavish announcement party, allegations of vote rigging, sexual assault, and financial impropriety began to circulate, leaving both her and her supporters bewildered.
During this turmoil, Prasad faced a prolonged media assault from a rival contestant, yet she maintained her composure and chose not to engage in social media disputes. The situation escalated into a public frenzy, with many questioning her silence while counterclaims of racism emerged from the rival.
On social media, Prasad addressed the situation by affirming her role as the official representative for Fiji at the upcoming Miss Universe International pageant. She posted a glamorous image of herself in a white gown, adorned with her crown and sash, captioning it, “Counting down days until I’m in Mexico for the 73rd Miss Universe,” thereby attempting to put the confusion regarding her title to rest.
This recent development comes a month after rival contestant Nadine Roberts publicly sought to dethrone Prasad. Despite concerns raised about Roberts’ potential conflict of interest with the event’s licensee, her queries have gone unanswered.
From Australia, Prasad shared that her preparations for the Miss Universe event are progressing well. Beyond her pageant responsibilities, she is also an advocate against violence towards women and girls and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration.
