Crowned Queen Amid Controversy: What’s Next for Miss Universe Fiji 2024?

Manshika Prasad, who was recently crowned Miss Universe Fiji 2024, faced unexpected controversy just two days later when allegations emerged questioning her title. Attendees at the exclusive celebration that marked her win were left stunned as accusations of vote rigging, sexual assault, and financial misconduct began to circulate.

Amid the chaos, Ms. Prasad maintained a composed demeanor as her rival contestant initiated a protracted media campaign against her. With the weight of the crown and sash along with the public scrutiny, Ms. Prasad kept a low profile, prompting speculation regarding her silence.

The situation took a positive turn when Ms. Prasad addressed the controversies on social media, sharing that she will represent Fiji at the upcoming Miss Universe International pageant. In a stylish sleeveless white gown, she posted on Instagram, “Counting down days until I’m in Mexico for the 73rd Miss Universe,” confirming, “I am going officially as stated by Miss Universe Organisation. See you in Mexico.”

This response comes after rival contestant Nadine Roberts made headlines alleging that Ms. Prasad should be dethroned. Roberts, who has connections to Fiji through her family, has been vocal about her claims to the title, raising questions about conflicts of interest related to the event’s licensee. Despite these concerns, Ms. Prasad remains focused on her preparations for the competition in Mexico.

In addition to her pageant responsibilities, Ms. Prasad is a dedicated advocate against violence toward women and girls, pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration in Australia.
