Manshika Prasad, who was recently crowned Miss Universe Fiji 2024, faced a confusing situation when a competing contestant made serious allegations against her just two days after the victory announcement. The controversy included claims of vote rigging, sexual assault, and financial misconduct, causing a stir among followers and attendees of the private ceremony celebrating her win.

Despite the backlash, Ms. Prasad remained composed and did not engage in public disputes via social media. Instead, she quietly endured the scrutiny while her rival unleashed a sustained media attack filled with what some perceived as unfounded and racially charged accusations.

However, Ms. Prasad took to Instagram to clarify her status, stating, “Counting down days until I’m in Mexico for the 73rd Miss Universe,” featuring a striking photo of herself in a fashionable white gown adorned with her crown and sash. She emphasized her position, declaring, “I am going officially as stated by Miss Universe Organisation. See you in Mexico.”

This clarification follows a month of tension after rival contestant Nadine Roberts attempted to contest Ms. Prasad’s title with various public assertions. Concerns have been raised about Roberts’ potential conflict of interest related to the event’s licensee, but inquiries directed toward her have gone unanswered.

Speaking from Australia, Ms. Prasad noted that her preparations for the Miss Universe competition are proceeding smoothly. She is also known for her advocacy against violence toward women and girls and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration in Australia.
