In 2025, women’s cricket in Fiji is set to reach new heights. The country will not only participate in the inaugural Four Nations tournament in New Caledonia but will also host the ICC T20 East Asia Pacific qualifier for the first time. Cricket Fiji’s CEO, Sitiveni Rokoro, announced that seven teams including Japan, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Samoa, Cook Islands, and Fiji will compete in this qualifier, with the winner earning a spot in the women’s World Cup in 2026.
To prepare for the Four Nations tournament scheduled for March, a national squad will be selected after the completion of the Suva T20 League. Rokoro noted the excitement surrounding the annual Easter senior men’s tournament, with multiple associations expressing interest in sending two teams each. The best eight teams from this Easter event will move on to a super eight tournament, with specific dates yet to be announced.
Additionally, the Fiji Secondary Schools U19 tournaments for both girls and boys are set to take place, reflecting a growing commitment to developing cricket at the grassroots level.
