A collaborative effort by the Police Mobile Force (PMF), the Fiji Detector Dog Unit (FDDU), and the Divisional Operations Team led to the arrest of three men in Nadonumai today, on charges of illegal possession of drugs.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu reported that the task force executed two separate raids in the area, which resulted in the seizure of items suspected to be marijuana, stolen electronics, and equipment thought to be used for packaging illegal drugs.
The three suspects are currently in custody at Lami Police Station as investigations are ongoing. ACP Driu emphasized that the goal during this festive season is to disrupt criminal networks and increase pressure on their operations through such targeted raids. He highlighted the importance of community involvement, urging residents to report any suspicious activities to Crime Stoppers at 919.
This proactive action by law enforcement shows a strong commitment to maintaining public safety and combating drug-related crimes. Engaging the community in the fight against drugs can foster a safer environment for everyone, especially during the busy holiday season when the risk of increased illicit activities may arise. By encouraging public participation, it strengthens the community’s role in identifying and reporting criminal behavior, ultimately leading to a more secure society.
