Crackdown on Drug Farms: Police Seize Thousands of Plants

The Fiji Police Force is working to identify the owners of drug farms after seizing over 2,000 plants suspected to be marijuana in the northern region.

Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations (ACP) Livai Driu stated that ongoing efforts to curb the supply of marijuana by targeting cultivators have led to several farm raids in recent days.

According to ACP Driu, a recent raid in the Tacilevu area resulted in the confiscation of nearly 400 plants believed to be marijuana. The owner of the farm has yet to be located.

In another operation in the Waisagavuna area, two farms were raided, leading to the seizure of approximately 1,700 plants suspected to be marijuana.

ACP Driu emphasized that their operations aim to reduce the supply of both white and green drugs across all five policing divisions.
