In separate operations conducted yesterday, authorities apprehended three individuals believed to be linked to the distribution and sale of illegal drugs.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police-Operations (ACP) Livai Driu, the Nausori Crime squad executed the first raid in Raralevu, seizing over 50 zip lock bags containing white crystals suspected to be methamphetamine, along with 15 sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana. Two suspects, aged 29 and 53, have been taken into custody as investigations continue.

In another incident in the Western Division, more than 170 sachets of dried leaves, likely marijuana, were found on a 46-year-old man arrested in Solovi, Nadi. The suspect remains in custody while inquiries are ongoing.

ACP Driu noted that, historically, drug dealers often target key social and sporting events, prompting the police to intensify their focus on individuals involved in illicit drug distribution and sales.
