Law enforcement conducted a series of raids targeting suspected marijuana cultivation in Lau, Savusavu, and Ovalau within the last 24 hours. Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations Livai Driu explained that these operations aim to disrupt the drug supply chain by concentrating efforts on cultivators and distributors.

In Mavana, Vanuabalavu, authorities uncovered a marijuana farm. On Ovalau Island, police seized over 300 marijuana plants along with groceries believed to have been stolen from a local school canteen, resulting in the arrest of one individual.

In the Northern Division, a raid close to Lea village led to the confiscation of more than 600 marijuana plants, dried branches, and seedlings, with a 20-year-old farmer taken into custody. Meanwhile, in the Southern Division, another operation in Tacirua yielded dried branches and small bags of dried leaves, leading to the arrest of a 43-year-old man.
