Courtroom Outburst: Accused Given Final Warning

A man who used offensive language directed at a High Court judge received a final warning yesterday regarding his behavior. Tomasi Bose faced Judge Justice Dane Tuiqereqere at the High Court in Suva, where he is charged with robbery and serious assault.

During the previous court session, Mr. Bose apologized to Justice Tuiqereqere for his outburst, which occurred after the judge suggested he seek legal representation. Although Mr. Bose had previously dismissed this suggestion twice, he expressed his frustration by using vulgar words when prompted a third time.

Justice Tuiqereqere warned Mr. Bose that if he exhibited similar conduct again, alternative measures would be taken to address his case.

In related matters, state prosecutor Zenith Zunaid objected to Mr. Bose’s bail application. Mr. Bose is expected to respond to this objection by Friday, and the case has been adjourned until September 17.
