Three men are set to appear in a special court session today, facing multiple charges related to an aggravated robbery that occurred last month. The accused are alleged to have stolen a vehicle, which they then used in a robbery at the Lalita Bhindi sub-division in Vatuwaqa. During the incident, they reportedly took a safe and various electronic items belonging to a local businessman.
Since the robbery, the Southern Division and Samabula task forces have been actively pursuing several leads that culminated in the arrests of the three suspects in Raiwaqa this week. The suspects, aged 36, 37, and 40, have been charged with numerous offenses, including criminal trespass, aiding and abetting theft of a motor vehicle, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, and serious assault.
The suspects will be brought before the Suva Magistrates Court, where they will face the judicial process.
This situation underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to address crime in the area and bring alleged offenders to justice. The collaboration between different task forces demonstrates a commitment to community safety and security. Hopefully, this case will serve as a deterrent to potential criminals and reassure the public about the effectiveness of the police in tackling such serious offenses.
