The Suva Magistrates Court has granted an extension of bail for Thakor Punja, who faces three charges related to the unlawful possession of illicit drugs. The court has scheduled a Pre-Trial Conference for February 19, 2025.

Punja is accused of possessing 0.84 grams of methamphetamine, 5.447 grams of cocaine, and 6.6 grams of marijuana. He has entered a not guilty plea regarding the charges.

Additionally, Resident Magistrate Yogesh Prasad allowed lead defense attorney Iqbal Khan to take time off to travel to Australia for a necessary eye surgery. In his absence, counsel Samuela Heritage requested to postpone the proceedings until later in the year. The court accepted this request without objection.

Moreover, the Police Prosecution has completed full disclosures to the defense, which has been confirmed by counsel Heritage.
