The Fiji Pearls are gearing up for the upcoming PacAusSports Series, with just five weeks remaining to prepare for the competition set to take place in Brisbane, Australia, next month. The extended training squad recently held a fitness regroup session at the FMF Gymnasium in Laucala Bay, Suva.

Head coach Jioweli Vakamoce emphasized the importance of fitness during this preparation period. “The (Pac)AusSports Series is in February, so we only have five weeks. Our primary focus will be on their fitness levels,” he stated. The coaching team is determined to enhance both fitness and court skills, ensuring the players are well-prepared for the challenges ahead.

The training regimen aims to push the players to their limits, integrating a strategy inspired by their male counterparts who recently had success in Singapore. “We designed a new program for the men’s team and are adapting several elements for the Pearls as well, with hopes it will yield positive results,” Vakamoce added.

As the team looks to build momentum, the rigorous training approach reflects their commitment to excellence. With this focused effort and new strategies in place, the Fiji Pearls are hopeful about their performance in the upcoming series.

This preparation phase not only highlights the Pearls’ dedication but also showcases their resilience as they strive to compete at a high level. With determination and hard work, there is a strong sense of optimism surrounding the team’s future endeavors.
