The Fiji Pearls are gearing up for their upcoming challenge, with only five weeks remaining until the PacAusSports Series kicks off in Brisbane, Australia. The extended training squad has recently completed a rigorous fitness regimen at the FMF Gymnasium in Laucala Bay, Suva.

Head coach Jioweli Vakamoce emphasized that the team’s primary focus during this period will be on enhancing their fitness levels as they approach the competition. Vakamoce stated, “With only five weeks to go, our attention will be on their fitness, along with improving court combinations and skills.”

During their training, the players experienced intense sessions at both the HPU Gym and FMF Gym, pushing their limits to build stamina and strength. As the new year celebrations wind down, the Pearls are increasing the intensity of their training.

In an innovative approach, the coaching panel is incorporating strategies used by the successful Fiji men’s netball team, which recently claimed victory in Singapore. Vakamoce shared that they have developed a new training program for the men and are adopting certain elements for the Pearls, hoping this will enhance their performance as well.

As the Fiji Pearls prepare for this significant challenge, their commitment to fitness and the adoption of effective strategies provide an optimistic outlook for their performance in the upcoming series. The focus on preparation illustrates their determination to excel in the face of competition.

In summary, the Fiji Pearls are in a crucial training phase as they prepare for the PacAusSports Series. With a strong emphasis on fitness and learning from past successes, there is great potential for a rewarding outcome in Brisbane.
