“Countdown to a New Era: National Development Plan Launch Next Week!”

The National Development Plan (NDP) is set to be launched next Tuesday, with Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka officiating the event. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Biman Prasad emphasized that the launch signifies the beginning of a comprehensive NDP aimed at fostering national unity and a collective vision for social, economic, and political progress.

Prasad remarked, “Our National Development Plan will be launched on Tuesday by the Prime Minister. We have the potential to become a prosperous nation in the next 25 to 30 years, but this is contingent on moving away from business as usual.” He highlighted the importance of maintaining political stability, consistent policy, and a consultative, transparent, and accountable governance approach.

The Ministry of Finance is leading the NDP initiative, which will build upon insights gathered from the Economic Summit, the Fiscal Review Committee report, and outcomes from the Education Summit. Prasad assured that the government aims to establish a legacy characterized by a political culture that allows for the peaceful and accountable transition of power between different parties.
