The safety of citizens during the festive and cyclone seasons relies heavily on the preparedness and responsiveness of the police. This vital message was delivered by Senior Superintendent of Police Joape Cakacaka, the newly appointed Divisional Police Commander for the East, during an operational readiness check parade on Thursday in Nausori.
This event marked SSP Cakacaka’s first official parade since taking office, where he addressed officers from the Eastern Division, which includes regions like Nakasi, Nausori, Naitasiri, Tailevu, Rewa, and the Lomaiviti group. He emphasized the importance of upholding high standards of professionalism and discipline within the force.
SSP Cakacaka reminded his team that as guardians of peace and safety, they must embody core values such as integrity, respect, humility, and professionalism. He expressed that while the festive season is a time for joy and celebration, it also brings unique challenges that demand their unwavering commitment to duty.
He highlighted that the actions of police officers are closely observed by the community, and these actions reflect on the entire Fiji Police Force. The parade included inspections of both land and maritime resources, reinforcing the importance of preparedness in ensuring community safety.
SSP Cakacaka urged his officers to remain focused and dedicated, as the safety of citizens hinges on their readiness and response capabilities.
This proactive approach by the police illustrates their commitment to maintaining safety during potentially challenging times, fostering a sense of security and hope within the community.
By ensuring they are well-prepared and focused on their roles, the police can positively impact the festive season, contributing to a safe and joyous environment for all.
