Controversial Decision Stuns Boxing Fans at WBF Featherweight Title Clash

The Bluewater Boxing Promotion showcased an exciting event as Jnr Binnu Singh faced Krishnil Mudaliar for the WBF Australasian Featherweight title at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

The match met high expectations, with Singh receiving strong support from a lively home crowd as he opened with powerful punches. However, Mudaliar leveraged his superior reach to control the early rounds with accuracy and strategy.

Refusing to let Mudaliar take command, Singh adapted his approach, landing body shots and pressing Mudaliar onto the ropes several times. The fight evolved into a closely contested, intense battle over the eight rounds, highlighting both fighters’ skills and resolve.

As the final bell rang, many spectators believed Mudaliar had secured a points victory due to his consistent performance. In a surprising turn, however, all three judges awarded the win to Jnr Binnu Singh.

This decision shocked Mudaliar’s corner, who expressed their disbelief and frustration, prompting them to question the referees and judges. The crowd remained tense, with Mudaliar’s supporters openly voicing their dissatisfaction and refusing to exit the venue until the lights were turned off.

The unexpected ruling ignited discussions among fans and analysts alike, adding drama to an already thrilling match and placing the futures of both fighters under scrutiny. Mudaliar has requested the Boxing Commission of Fiji to reassess the outcome.

“I won every round. It was a major injustice. I don’t deserve this,” exclaimed Mudaliar. “He didn’t win a single round. I scored all the points, and all the cards were in my favor.”

On the other hand, Singh celebrated his first international title, expressing ambitions for more. “I have a fight lined up in November. I believe it will be an international bout, as my focus will be there now,” Singh stated.
