Walker highlighted that one of the team’s main objectives is to maintain a strong performance from start to finish. “We are good around those middle periods, and in some games, we start well,” he explained. “However, we just want to ensure that we have consistency throughout, particularly in starting well — that’s something the girls have been working hard on.”
As the competition heats up, Walker acknowledges the quality of the opposition, including traditional powerhouses like Australia, the USA, and Japan. He asserts that finishing strong in matches is critical. “We want to finish the game really well. Our opponents are consistent, and we aspire to match that level,” he stated.
The Fijiana Sevens team will begin their campaign in Singapore with a match against Australia at 3:26 PM on Saturday, followed by games against the USA at 6:30 PM and Japan at 9:56 PM.
