Connecting Forces: Indo-Pacific Army Seminar Kicks Off in Fiji

The Republic of Fiji Military Forces, in collaboration with the U.S. Army, is hosting the 48th annual Indo-Pacific Army Management Seminar (IPAMS) and the 10th annual Senior Enlisted Forum (SELF) at the Hotel Sofitel Resort on Denarau Island, Nadi.

This three-day event marks the largest conference for land forces, including both Army and Marine representatives from the region. The aim of IPAMS is to foster peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific through enhancing mutual understanding, dialogue, and friendship among participants. It serves as a platform for senior officers to share perspectives and ideas while strengthening their professional relationships.

This year’s conference centers around the theme “Joint & Combined Operations in the Indo-Pacific Region.” It will include plenary sessions alongside smaller break-out discussions. Participants will have the opportunity to hear from distinguished guest speakers and engage in dynamic conversations on various topics, including peacekeeping initiatives, humanitarian aid, leadership development, and the impacts of climate change.

IPAMS holds the distinction of being the largest and longest-running land forces conference within the Indo-Pacific area.
