Prashantika Prasad, a 22-year-old, is eager to enhance her confidence to pursue more opportunities in the fashion industry. She is one of ten contestants competing for the Miss Fiji Universe 2024 title in Mexico at the end of the year. Currently, she is a fourth-year MBBS student at the University of Fiji, located in Lautoka.
Prasad expressed her motivation for entering the pageant, saying, “I entered this pageant to take up an opportunity that does not always come by in hopes of becoming more confident.” Her primary message is centered on building self-confidence and taking advantage of opportunities.
She acknowledges that while spontaneous opportunities can be intimidating, they are crucial for personal growth. Prasad aims to promote awareness and provide support in creating a resilient, youth-empowered society, particularly through education and assistance for individuals facing mental health challenges and substance abuse issues.
Her ambition is to complete her education and work as a healthcare provider. Prasad has developed great respect for those who step onto such significant platforms, noting the importance of female unity and the valuable lessons she has learned from her fellow contestants.
Before this, Ms. Prasad served as the deputy head girl at Sangam Sadhu Kuppuswamy Memorial College in Nadi, where she also contributed as a lead singer in the school band for their official music video. Like her father, Shalendra Shambu Prasad, she has a talent for singing. Additionally, she is an active member of the University of Fiji’s musical band and enjoys playing tennis and engaging in community service during medical camps.
