Seventeen students from Naitasiri Secondary School who were involved in a recent vehicle accident will be granted a compassionate pass, pending necessary reports and recommendations from the Sub Divisional Medical Officer (SDMO) Naitasiri and the Head of School (HoS). This was confirmed by the Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro.
The accident occurred at Navuniyasi Village Saumakia Junction in Naitasiri, when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, leading it to veer off the road. The injured students were promptly transported to Vunidawa Hospital for medical care. As investigations are ongoing, no further details about the cause of the incident have been released.
Minister Radrodro emphasized that following the completion of the police and medical reports, the affected students would receive assistance in making claims with the Accident Compensation Commission Fiji (ACCF). He urged all involved, including parents and teachers, to remain proactive about safety measures to help prevent such tragic occurrences in the future.
