A collaborative initiative involving Savusavu police officers, Operation Tagimoucia personnel, and local community members has resulted in the confiscation of over 1,000 plants suspected to be marijuana in the hilly regions surrounding Nawi Village.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Livai Driu praised the active participation of the community in this operation, highlighting the ongoing partnership aimed at diminishing the availability of illegal drugs in both urban and rural settings. “The support of the community continues to play a crucial role in our fight against drug-related crime across the five policing divisions,” ACP Driu stated.
The Fiji Police Force has reiterated its dedication to engaging with communities in order to combat the proliferation of illegal substances, thereby fostering a safer environment for all citizens.
This effort not only demonstrates the effectiveness of community policing but also reinforces the importance of public collaboration in addressing drug-related issues. The ongoing vigilance and cooperation between law enforcement and residents serve as a hopeful reminder of the positive impact these partnerships can have in enhancing community safety.
