The Fiji Police Force has reported that the relatives of a man involved in a fatal accident in Navua last week have stepped forward to assist in identifying the victim. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana, the deceased has been identified as a 27-year-old resident of Lautoka.
SSP Divuana noted that the victim’s uncle responded after viewing a public request for information regarding the incident. “We thank members of the public for their cooperation in sharing the request for information, which is now no longer necessary,” SSP Divuana stated.
This act of community engagement highlights the importance of public involvement in supporting law enforcement efforts, ultimately leading to timely resolutions in tragic situations. It underscores the positive impact that communication and shared information can have within communities during difficult times.
