The Fiji Police Force has announced that the family of a man who was involved in a tragic accident in Navua last week has aided investigators in identifying the victim. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana, the deceased has been confirmed as a 27-year-old resident of Lautoka.
The identification process was facilitated after the victim’s uncle stepped forward following a public appeal for information. SSP Divuana expressed gratitude to the community for their support in spreading the request, stating that it has now been called off.
This collaboration between the police and the public highlights the importance of community involvement in such critical situations, showcasing how collective efforts can aid in overcoming challenges during investigations. The willingness of the victim’s family to assist not only brings closure to their own loss but also contributes to the efforts of law enforcement in seeking justice.
