The Lautoka/Yasawa Health Office, in coordination with the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) and the Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC), conducted a successful refuse collection operation at Naimasi Settlement in Lovu. This initiative took place yesterday and was enhanced by the support of three trucks and a loader provided by the FSC.
During this collaborative effort, the team worked diligently to collect nine loads of refuse. The operation received a robust public response, reflecting the increased awareness around Dengue prevention efforts promoted by the health office.
Authorities have expressed their gratitude to the community for their cooperation and emphasized the critical role of maintaining a clean environment. This is particularly important in reducing mosquito breeding sites, which can help prevent the spread of Dengue fever.
As the region continues to combat health concerns such as Dengue, community involvement in cleanliness and environmental efforts remains vital to ensuring public health and safety.
