Former Minister Tuitubou Dies at 69

Former Minister for Youth and Sports, Lieutenant-Colonel (Retired) Laisenia Tuitubou, passed away on Saturday at the age of 69 in Pacific Harbor, Deuba, due to a short illness. His son, Nemani Tuitubou, announced the sad news on social media, expressing profound grief over the loss of his father, whom he described as a “cornerstone” of their family and community.

Mr. Tuitubou, affectionately known as ‘Pa’ or ‘Tutu’ to his five grandchildren, was deeply involved in their lives and cherished moments spent together. He was recognized for his humility and service, highlighted by his significant contributions to his community, the church, and his country throughout his life. Nemani stated, “Despite holding esteemed positions throughout his career, he remained grounded and instilled strong values of love and service in all of us.”

Tuitubou, originally from Sinuvaca, Koro in the Lomaiviti Group, is survived by his four children and grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are currently being made, and his family has requested prayers and thoughts from the community during this challenging time.

The passing of Laisenia Tuitubou is not just a loss for his family but resonates throughout the community he served.
