Eyewitness Ana Rokomuri, Miriama’s closest friend, recalled the frantic scene as she desperately searched for her friend amidst the chaos. “I kept asking around for her,” she shared, her voice trembling with grief. Moments before the tragedy, one of Miriama’s cousins bravely entered the residence to rescue the children, while Miriama’s husband, Viliame Baravi, suffered severe burns in his efforts to save his family.
