Community Development Takes a Step Forward in Naitasiri

The local community of Matailobau in Naitasiri has received a significant boost with the announcement of a $34,600 grant dedicated to improving local infrastructure. This initiative, part of the government’s Village Improvement Scheme, was confirmed by Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Ifereimi Vasu, during a visit scheduled for this week.

The minister expressed gratitude to the community for their commitment and efforts in enhancing their village, highlighting the importance of local development that hinges on government support. He noted that this funding aims to improve essential facilities, including community halls, water supply systems, and schools, along with enhancing solar power options and improving access to roads.

Moreover, Minister Vasu encouraged the residents to take ownership of these developments, emphasizing that they should care for the resources that would support their daily lives and promote a better quality of living.
