A new investment of $34,600 has been allocated for development projects in the village of Matailobau, Naitasiri. The announcement was made by the Minister for Rural Development, iTovo, and Related Government Assets, Ifereimi Vasu, during a visit this week.
The Minister commended the community for their proactive approach to improving their village through the Village Improvement Scheme, which is supported by the government. This initiative not only serves as a testament to youth engagement but also benefits the entire community.
The development projects include the construction of community facilities, a water supply system, and a school hall, alongside the implementation of solar power to enhance energy resilience in the village.

Matailobau is one of 30 villages benefiting from similar development assistance across the region.
