The Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park proved to be a resounding success once again this year. The festivities took place on Saturday from noon until 10 PM, organized by Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Fiji. The company expressed its enthusiasm for this cherished annual event, which aims to spread joy, strengthen community ties, and support local talent.
Emmy Ling-Elder, the head of marketing for Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Fiji, highlighted the significance of the event in her remarks. “We’re thrilled to bring Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park back for its second year,” she stated. “This occasion allows us to share the joy of the season with our community, providing an unforgettable day full of celebration, connection, and entertainment.”
The event kicked off with a vibrant food festival that showcased a wide range of culinary delights, including BBQ, lovo, Indian cuisine, and other local favourites. Attendees were treated to performances by some of Fiji’s top musical talents, including Liz Vamarasi, VLY, The Gang, Aman Singh featuring Yuvaan Band, Makare, Ouvacast, Tunite, Paradise Rootz, and DJ Vibez. Local organizations also participated to engage with the community, including representatives from the Fiji Police Force, the National Fire Authority, and Seek to Save Ministry, who shared important information about their services and promoted safety and well-being.
To create a safer and more enjoyable atmosphere, Cakobau Street was closed to traffic from midnight on Friday until noon on Sunday, transforming it into a pedestrian-friendly area for the celebration.
This event not only brought joy and entertainment to the community but also supported local artists and small businesses, reinforcing the spirit of giving and togetherness during the holiday season. It serves as a heartwarming reminder of the power of community engagement and celebration.
In summary, Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park successfully combined festive fun and local support, fostering a sense of unity and joy within the community. As the celebration continues to grow, it encourages even more participation and connection among residents.
