Police have increased security measures around the Suva area to ensure the safety of children and participants as the 2025 Coca-Cola Games conclude today at the HFC Bank National Stadium. The police have reported that their presence has been intensified, particularly to ensure that children return home safely after the games.

In a statement, police emphasized their commitment to road safety and responsible behavior among students. Officers will be stationed along highways monitoring school bus conduct, ensuring that students adhere to appropriate behavior while traveling.

Additionally, the police will be vigilant in monitoring towns and entertainment locations such as amusement centers, liquor stores, and kava bars, as well as checking nightclubs later in the evening to deter minors from entering.

This increased focus on safety aligns with previous initiatives taken during similar large-scale events, where authorities have worked diligently to foster a secure environment for all participants. Just as during past events, such as the Nawaka 7s rugby tournament, community policing remains a priority, with officers engaging with students, parents, and educational institutions to maintain safety and promote responsible conduct.

The proactive measures being implemented during the Coca-Cola Games highlight the authorities’ commitment to creating a secure and enjoyable event while encouraging a culture of respect and responsibility among young athletes. With the collaborative efforts of law enforcement and the community, there remains hope for a positive environment where students can thrive and excel in their sporting endeavors.
