Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Fiji has renewed its sponsorship of Fiji Rugby with a $1.5 million commitment over the next three years, a deal the partners say will protect and expand pathways from village tournaments to the international stage. The three-year agreement, confirmed by both organisations, keeps Coca-Cola and Fiji Gold as the official beverage partners of the Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) and includes both direct financial support and ongoing product supply.

The funding is earmarked to support national competitions, bolster performance programmes and strengthen the talent pipeline that takes players from grassroots village tournaments to elite levels. Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Fiji commercial director Ryan Mahoney framed the investment as part of the company’s long-term responsibility to the sport’s future in Fiji. “This $1.5m partnership over the next three years reinforces our brand’s long-standing connection to the heart of the Fijian rugby culture. From village tournaments to the world stage, our beverage brands have been part of rugby’s journey for generations,” Mahoney said.

FRU chief executive Koli Sewabu welcomed the renewal, stressing the significance of private-sector support for both community-level and elite rugby. “We are grateful for the confidence you have shown in our programmes and in our athletes,” Sewabu said. “This investment strengthens grassroots and performance rugby, improves the experience of players, officials and supporters who bring our game to life.” He said the package would directly assist national competitions while underpinning systems designed to develop players as they progress through the rugby pathway.

Beyond the immediate cash injection, the agreement formalises ongoing product supply for events and competitions, a practical benefit for organisers and supporters across the country. The FRU and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners have previously worked together on community initiatives and tournament sponsorships, and the renewed arrangement underscores the companies’ continued role in supporting local sporting infrastructure.

Corporate sponsorships like this one are key to sustaining Fiji’s deep rugby culture, where village tournaments and talent scouting remain central to discovering and nurturing future international stars. In recent years, Fiji’s performances on the world stage—particularly in sevens—have raised the profile of the game domestically and internationally, placing greater emphasis on reliable funding for development pathways and competition logistics.

The three-year deal arrives as both FRU and corporate partners stress long-term planning and stability for the sport. By locking in multi-year support and product partnerships, the union aims to ensure that grassroots competitions, match-day operations and elite training programmes have predictable resources as they prepare players and officials for upcoming seasons and international campaigns.
