Coca-Cola Fiji has announced a generous donation of sporting equipment valued at $15,000 to seven maritime schools as part of its commitment to support athletics in Fiji. The announcement was made by Ryan Mahoney, Commercial Director of Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Fiji, during a recent press conference celebrating 50 years of partnership with the Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association.
The schools that will benefit from this donation include Ratu Lalabalavu Memorial School, Cicia High School, Adi Moapa Secondary School, Gau Secondary School, Richmond Methodist High School, Vunisea Secondary School, and Rotuma High School. This initiative is a part of a broader $50,000 donation package aimed at enhancing the upcoming 2025 Fiji Finals.
Of the total package, $35,000 will be allocated for prize money for winners, which serves to motivate all participating schools to strive for excellence. The Coca-Cola Finals is set to take place from April 24 to 26 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, uniting approximately 130 students from 50 secondary schools across Fiji in a celebration of athletic prowess.
The ongoing support from Coca-Cola and other sponsors, such as the Damodar Group, underscores a collective commitment to developing the sporting talent of Fiji’s youth, fostering community engagement, and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle among students. As the excitement around these games builds, it reflects not only on the individual achievements of young athletes but also on the strength of community unity and support for sports.
Overall, such initiatives by Coca-Cola not only enrich the educational experience of students but also aim for a positive future for athletics in Fiji, showcasing the talents of the next generation on a national stage.
