The Constitutional Offices Commission (COC) is scheduled to convene on Monday, focusing on filling key vacancies following the elections of a new President. Mr. Seruiratu expressed his anticipation for the meeting, expecting it to lead to substantial progress on appointments that require endorsement from the newly elected President, Ratu Naiqama. He noted that the Commissioner of Police position is particularly urgent, as ongoing discussions from Minister for Home Affairs Pio Tikoduadua highlight the critical need for a permanent appointment.

Prime Minister and COC chairman Sitiveni Rabuka acknowledged the efforts of Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew while recognizing the necessity of appointing a new Commissioner.
