A Coastal Inundation Alert has been issued for all low-lying coastal regions of Southern Viti Levu, Beqa, Vatulele, Kadavu, and nearby smaller islands, as well as the Central and Southern Lau Groups.

The Fiji Meteorological Service announced that a high-pressure system located to the far Southwest of Fiji is anticipated to produce and direct moderate to heavy southerly swells across the Southern waters of Fiji, potentially leading to coastal flooding in the affected areas.

Residents of these low-lying coastal regions should prepare for possible sea flooding during high tides. The Weather Office has warned that debris may also accumulate along the coast, especially at high tide, posing risks for recreational activities.

The next high tide is expected at 8 pm tonight.
