A coastal inundation alert that was previously issued for low-lying coastal regions of Southern Viti Levu, Beqa, Vatulele, Kadavu, and nearby smaller islands, as well as the Central and Southern Lau Groups, has now been lifted. The Fiji Meteorological Service reported that a high-pressure system located far to the south of Fiji is expected to move eastward. This shift is causing moderate southerly swells and has decreased the likelihood of coastal inundation in the southern low-lying areas of Fiji. The Nadi Weather Office indicated that there is now a very low to low chance of sea flooding in coastal locations, particularly during high tides.
