Clothes for Good, a charitable organization focused on pre-loved clothing, has made a generous contribution of $1,000 to the SPCA Fiji Islands. This funding will significantly aid in constructing an essential outdoor enclosure for the shelter’s feline residents, enhancing their living conditions.

The donation is aimed at upgrading the SPCA’s facilities, resulting in a safer and more comfortable environment for the cats, allowing them to bask in sunlight and enjoy a more natural setting. This development not only improves the immediate conditions for the cats but also increases the shelter’s capacity to care for the increasing number of animals needing assistance.

Clothes for Good, which operates stores in Nabua and Lami, reinvests all profits back into the community, supporting various local charities and initiatives. Founder Hayden Ostrom-Brown expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with SPCA to enhance their facilities. He emphasized that every purchase made at their stores contributes to valuable funding for local organizations in need.

“This donation to the SPCA is just the beginning of a longer-term partnership,” Ostrom-Brown stated.

The SPCA Fiji Islands, often challenged by limited resources, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support. A representative from the organization noted that the contribution would have a profound impact on their ability to enhance their facilities and improve the quality of life for the animals in their care. They also expressed hope that this gesture would motivate other businesses to lend their support.

Ostrom-Brown, who also serves as the CEO of Call Centre My Kora, encouraged other businesses to step up in addressing the stray animal crisis in Fiji. “If more businesses get involved, we can provide better lives for these beautiful animals,” he remarked.

The SPCA plays a crucial role in combating stray animal issues through initiatives such as desexing programs, life-saving surgeries, and rehoming efforts.

This story highlights a positive community effort and the potential for more collaborations that can make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals in need. The partnership between Clothes for Good and SPCA Fiji Islands signifies a hopeful trend towards community engagement and support for local charities.
