Clothes for Good made a generous donation of $5,000 to the Nasole Housing Assistance Relief Trust (HART) Community on Wednesday, reflecting the company’s commitment to charitable initiatives.

As Fiji’s first non-profit preloved clothing store, with locations in Nabua and Lami near Suva, Clothes for Good channels its earnings back into the Fijian community, supporting local charities and addressing various needs. The company’s founder, Hayden Ostrom, emphasized that the core mission of their business is helping communities like Nasole HART enhance their standard of living.

Ostrom remarked that by reaching out to struggling communities, they aim to create a positive social impact that resonates at the grassroots level. He explained to shoppers, “Every time someone shops at one of our stores, they are not only purchasing quality clothes or shoes but also contributing to vital support for those in need in Fiji.” He proudly noted that their initiative stands out as the first stores in Fiji where profits are entirely dedicated to helping those in need.

The recent donation will be allocated for critical improvements within the community, including repairing fences to enhance safety, especially in light of recent break-ins, and upgrading a leaking hall that serves as a crucial space for children’s studies. Ostrom highlighted the importance of safety in homes, particularly for individuals who have experienced violence, reinforcing that everyone is deserving of a secure and supportive environment.

This initiative by Clothes for Good showcases the powerful impact that local businesses can have when they prioritize community welfare over profit. Their ongoing support not only addresses immediate needs but also fosters a culture of care and collaboration within Fijian society.

In a broader context, this story is a testament to how businesses can effectively contribute to social responsibility, setting a positive example for others in the sector to follow.
