Clothes for Good has donated $5,000 to the Nasole Housing Assistance Relief Trust (HART) Community as part of their commitment to social responsibility. This American non-profit organization operates the first preloved clothing store in Fiji, with locations in Nabua and Lami, near Suva.
The profits generated from their shops are reinvested into the Fijian community to support various local charities and initiatives. Hayden Ostrom, the founder of Clothes for Good, emphasized that their business model is centered around charity, aiming to uplift communities like Nasole HART and improve living standards.
Mr. Ostrom highlighted the importance of connecting with communities facing challenges, believing that their efforts can have a meaningful impact at the grassroots level. Every purchase made in their stores not only provides customers with quality clothing and footwear but also contributes to positive changes in the lives of those in need in Fiji.
The recent donation will be allocated towards enhancing community safety by repairing fences, particularly in light of recent break-ins. Additionally, the funds will assist in upgrading the community hall, which has been experiencing leaks and is vital for children’s educational activities. “Everyone deserves to feel safe in their home, especially in communities that have faced violence,” Mr. Ostrom stated.
Clothes for Good continues to demonstrate that businesses can play an essential role in fostering community welfare. This initiative not only addresses immediate needs but also uplifts the spirit of community solidarity.
As these efforts illustrate, local businesses can make a significant difference in people’s lives, bringing hope and improvement to struggling communities.
