A prominent retail products manufacturer has underscored the importance of maintaining personal and general hygiene as the flu season approaches.
The Punjas Group recently donated hundreds of bars of soap to students, emphasizing the crucial role of handwashing in promoting cleanliness and healthcare.
Priya Kumar, the quality control manager for the group, highlighted that Ocean Soaps Limited has been producing various types of soap and has established a state-of-the-art laboratory and testing facility in Navutu, Lautoka, which complies with strict Australian certification standards.
During her speech to the students, she noted that the ingredients in the Bodyguard soap brand are particularly effective for enhancing personal hygiene and preventing the spread of germs through proper handwashing.
Kumar also pointed out that handwashing with soap plays a vital role in achieving the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goal of significantly reducing child mortality rates by 2015. She emphasized that fostering good hygiene habits in children can empower them to lead initiatives in their communities to promote the use of soap for handwashing.
