A prominent retail product manufacturer has emphasized the need for consistent personal and general hygiene nationwide as flu season approaches. The Punjas Group has contributed hundreds of soap bars to students, reinforcing the significance of handwashing in maintaining cleanliness and health.
Priya Kumar, the quality control manager of Ocean Soaps Limited, highlighted that the company has developed a range of soaps and has established a state-of-the-art laboratory and testing facility in Navutu, Lautoka, which complies with rigorous Australian certification standards.
During a presentation to students, Kumar explained that the Bodyguard soap brand contains ingredients that enhance personal hygiene and help prevent the spread of germs through effective handwashing. She remarked, “Handwashing with soap is expected to greatly contribute to achieving the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goal of reducing child mortality rates for those under five years old by two-thirds by 2015. Instilling good hygiene habits during childhood positions children as key agents for behavioral change in their communities, particularly in terms of proper handwashing practices.”
