The Solomon Islands and Hong Kong China are both eager to achieve victory in the FIFA International “A” Friendlies tournament set to take place at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva tomorrow. Solomon Islands’ captain, Michael Lea’alafa, acknowledged the skills of the Hong Kong China team and emphasized the need to remain vigilant in their preparation and on-field performance.
Lea’alafa expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming match, stating, “It’s always a blessing to play a football game, and all the boys are looking forward to this game.” He noted that the match would be significant against Hong Kong and, as stated by their coach, would serve as essential preparation for the World Cup qualifiers, helping them maintain momentum and identify areas for improvement.
Hong Kong China’s captain, Matthew Orr, shared that the team has been managing the physical demands of their lengthy journey to Fiji, prioritizing recovery and readiness ahead of their encounter with the Solomon Islands. First-time visitors to Fiji, Orr and his teammates are determined to secure a victory in the match. “The last couple of days it’s been quite a long travel down here, so it’s been more about focusing on recovery and making sure our body is alright before the match,” Orr commented.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m.
