The Solomon Islands and Hong Kong China are both eager to secure a win at the FIFA International “A” Friendlies tournament, taking place at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva tomorrow.
Captain Michael Lea’alafa from the Solomon Islands acknowledged the skill of the Hong Kong China team and emphasized the need to avoid complacency in their preparation and performance. He expressed enthusiasm for the competition, stating, “It is always a blessing to play a football game, and all the boys are looking forward to this game.”
Lea’alafa mentioned the significance of this match in the context of their World Cup qualifier preparations, viewing it as an opportunity to maintain momentum and identify areas for improvement.
On the other hand, Hong Kong China captain Matthew Orr highlighted the challenges of their long journey to Fiji but assured that the team is prioritizing recovery and physical readiness ahead of the match against the Solomon Islands. Despite this being their first experience in Fiji, Orr and his teammates are determined to aim for victory.
“The last couple of days it’s been quite a long travel down here, so it’s been more about focusing on recovery and making sure our body is alright before the match,” stated Orr.
The match is set to kick off at 7 PM.
