CIFTIS 2024: A Glimpse into the Future of Global Trade and Innovation

China remains at the forefront of promoting global interest in services and trade with the recent hosting of the 12th China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS). This year’s event took place from September 12 to 16 at the China National Convention Center and Shougang Park in Beijing, attracting representatives from 85 countries.

Since its inception in 2012, CIFTIS has evolved into one of the largest service fairs globally. This edition saw numerous embassies participating, although the absence of Fiji was noted, highlighting the significance of such events for showcasing culture and fostering trade opportunities.

Ninety journalists from 83 countries attended the event, including participants from the Pacific Islands, as part of the China International Press Communication Centre programme. Their engagement allowed them to cover CIFTIS 2024, sharing insights and experiences globally.

The fair showcased a vibrant atmosphere filled with various booths featuring innovative technologies and cultural displays. Attendees encountered a wide range of products, from fashion to souvenirs, leading to a bustling venue that made navigation challenging.

Notably, one booth featured an impressive robot resembling a friendly dog, showcasing the advancements in Chinese technology. The interactive experience highlighted the fair’s focus on celebrating collaboration among countries and exploring new possibilities within the service industry.
