The All Nations Christian Fellowship (ANCF) has announced plans to construct a church capable of accommodating a congregation of 40,000 people. This initiative was shared by ANCF General Superintendent, Reverend Epeli Ratabacaca, during the church’s Epic Rugby Sevens tournament at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Friday. Rev. Ratabacaca indicated that the tournament is part of their fundraising efforts for the project.
The church will be established on a 25-acre plot of land, which will be accessible for events organized by all Christian denominations. “We have been inspired to build this facility for the entire body of Christ. We are grateful that God has entrusted us with this mission,” he stated.
Rev. Ratabacaca emphasized that the new facility is intended not just for ANCF but will also serve other Christian denominations for conferences and events. He expressed concerns about the suitability of sports grounds for worship, sharing that the recent Methodist Church Conference at Vodafone Arena in Suva nearly cost half a million dollars for just one week.
“Sports grounds, including Vodafone Arena, are not the house of God. It has been noted that many Christian annual conferences have taken place at these venues, which can lead to discomfort for attendees during inclement weather,” Rev. Ratabacaca said. He concluded by highlighting that the new facility will provide a comfortable and conducive environment for worship.
