Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva celebrated the arrival of eight babies on Christmas Day, marking a joyful occasion for their families. The first baby to be born, a boy, arrived at midnight to 21-year-old Mary Vorata, who expressed surprise at her son’s timing, as she had not anticipated a Christmas delivery.

Reflecting on the experience, Mary shared her gratitude, stating, “I wasn’t expecting him to be born on Christmas Day, although it was past my due date. I’m thankful for his safe delivery, and we are both healthy. Now we are just waiting for my husband who is in Ba.”

Meanwhile, at Lautoka Hospital, Alevina Moala welcomed her first child, Adrea Ramabuke, who was born at 1:12 am. Alevina expressed her happiness, saying, “I feel blessed and happy, and I thank God for our blessing on such a special day.” She also praised the staff at the Lautoka Hospital maternity ward for their exceptional support.
