Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva celebrated the arrival of eight precious Christmas Day babies on Wednesday, marking a joyful occasion for the families involved. The first baby, a boy born to 21-year-old Mary Vorata, arrived promptly at midnight, surprising his mother who had not anticipated a delivery on such a significant holiday.

Mary expressed her gratitude, stating, “I wasn’t expecting him to be born on Christmas Day, although it was past my due date. But, at the same time, I’m thankful for his safe delivery. We are both healthy and now we are just waiting for my husband who is in Ba.”

In a similar spirit of joy, Alevina Moala welcomed her first child, Adrea Ramabuke, at Lautoka Hospital at 1:12 am. Alevina shared her feelings of gratitude: “I feel blessed and happy, and I thank God for our blessing on such a special day. I want to thank the staff at Lautoka Hospital maternity ward for their support.”
