A 50-year-old unemployed individual from Tomuka in Lautoka was arrested for possessing five sachets of dried leaves, again thought to be marijuana.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACPO) Livai Driu stated that law enforcement had been actively conducting drug checks on Christmas Day and emphasized that police teams would continue to monitor public areas and communities for further drug-related incidents.
Currently, all six suspects are in police custody as officers await drug analysis, and investigations are ongoing.
This situation underscores law enforcement’s commitment to maintaining community safety, especially during festive times when illegal substance use may increase. By keeping a vigilant watch, authorities hope to deter such activities and promote a safer environment for everyone.
