Additionally, a 52-year-old man from Nakelo, Tailevu, was found with 20 sachets of dried leaves, again thought to be marijuana. Lastly, in Lautoka, a 50-year-old man from Tomuka was arrested for possessing five sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, indicated that police maintained a strong presence on the streets during the holiday, emphasizing their commitment to drug enforcement. He noted that police will continue monitoring picnic spots and communities to prevent unlawful activities. All six individuals remain in police custody as investigations proceed, including drug analysis.

It’s essential to recognize that these proactive measures by the police reflect a continued effort to address drug-related concerns in communities. Vigilance during festive periods may help deter drug-related activities and promote safer environments for everyone.

For a hopeful perspective, ongoing law enforcement operations can enhance public safety and reduce drug prevalence, ultimately leading to healthier communities.
